Writing For Fun
Did you know that writing can be fun for all of us? Sometimes writing down thoughts and ideas can be the only way we are able to resolve issues and feelings. How often have you just wished that you had someone to talk to about something that was on your mind?
I know there have been lots of ideas I've had that I didn't feel ready to let anyone hear what I'm thinking. Well, writing can help sort out many things that are on our mind. When we write, we get a chance to visualize our thoughts and review the concepts we are starting to develop. Reading back our own words can help solidify, or throw out our ideas. Many times, I have had thoughts that seemed to be great ideas. Writing those thoughts has helped direct my efforts in a particular direction.
Stand-up comics, for instance, may be able to think of many funny retorts on the spot, but for the most part, their comedy routines will be well written and effectively practiced. Try writing a comedy routine and deliver it to your family members. Did you get the response you expected? If not, modify your script and try again. Keep refining until you have your audience in your lap.
Mulling over a particularly difficult problem on your mind lends to writing it down. Read it over and see if it seems the same magnitude now. Sometimes just the action of writing your thoughts resolves many concerns.
Do you feel that you are creative? Create a character and tell his or her story. Let your imagination take your character on any type of adventure you see happening. I think you will find the experience enlightening. Remember, it is your story. There are no restrictions. Let it go anywhere your mind can go.
Do you support any burning social issues? Write down your position and reasons for your support. Do some research to support your position. Now you are using your writing skills to promote concerns that you believe should be addressed. Remember the addage: " The pen is mightier than the sword!"
Not only can you have a great deal of fun writing, but you and I can both benefit by influencing others to enjoy our passions in life.
